The event starting at 1:30pm was held on the 5th July at the same venue as last year, on the playing field behind Stockbury Village Hall also using the hall for teas and cakes. Weather was again kind to us, perhaps a little to hot for the dogs but shade was available to enable them to cool off. As usual there were
stalls to entice you to spend your money which is an important part
of the event as it helps fund the continual rescue work that goes on
for the Labradors who need new homes. The other important part
of the event is to get people with their families and dogs to have
some fun together. We then had a break from the events to watch a display of pet dog obedience by Stockbury Dog Club. A variety of breeds are in the team and they put on an interesting display showing that with training and socialisation the dogs are able to work closely together carrying out down stays, recalls and other exercises. Thanks to Stockbury Dog Club Display Team for a good display. Then on to the remaining fun events:
With the raffle drawn and the events finished it was time to go home after a very enjoyable afternoon. Thanks to all who helped to
put the event on for their hard work arranging, managing
stalls, judging etc.. It would not be possible to have such
an event without you all. |
