The 2nd of September
was a very special day for all at LRK.
We are celebrating
our 10th year, having now rehomed over 1000
dogs.
With all the
preparations complete, the day dawned bright and
sunny, it had to be a good day, and so it was.
More people than ever came with their dogs to
enjoy the day. There were displays by
Swalecliffe Agility Team and Stockbury Obedience
Club.
Games for the dogs and handlers, pat dogs,
pet clinic and a variety of stalls with
a tombola and raffle.
The Town Cryer
opened the day and presented Maggie (our founder
member) with a small gift in recognition of all
her hard work and dedication over the years. He
is a larger than life character, don't think he
let anyone pass without buying some raffle
tickets.
Our thanks go to
everyone who helped, Carol and Keith for letting
us use their home, the people that donated
gifts, cakes, burgers, but mostly to all of you
that came and made it a truly great day.
A note from Maggie:
Labrador Rescue Kent and myself as the only
remaining founder member celebrated our 10 years
birthday. It was a wonderful day for all and I
was taken by surprise when my fellow trustees
presented me with lovely gifts to celebrate this
anniversary.
I would like to thank them for this wonderful
gesture and also to thank all the helpers over
the 10 years who have made Labrador Rescue Kent
so successful.
Maggie
