| Having had ten successful years of Reunion
Fun Days we thought it had probably run its course, but a chance
remark and enquiries from our Rescue owners as to when the next one
would be encouraged us to have another Fun Day. Mick suggested the location and organised the date and the site. We not only changed location but also changed the month. We had sent out a questionnaire and June/July had come back as suggested dates. Mick was there bright and early in the morning and when we all arrived he had already designated the various pitches so it was just a case of erecting the gazebos and putting our wares out. As with every Reunion day there is always the worry that there will be a poor or no turnout and all the hard work will have gone to waste. Our concerns were unfounded, the cars formed an orderly queue as they lined up to park. People and dogs poured out of the cars , now the rest was down to us. Our helpers were brilliant , as were some of their friends who found themselves roped in to help on the stalls, thank you everyone. We had six different fun games for the dogs, these had been again organised by Mick(see results below), and two demonstrations, one agility and the other from the dog club. The Swalecliffe Agility Clubs demonstration was an insight into how dogs can be trained and was greatly appreciated. The Stockbury Dog Club's display was also brilliant showing how well dogs can be controlled and how willing they are to please. We also had a police dog handler with his dogs answering questions. Perhaps one of the most important things was the weather and it didn't let us down. There was a slight breeze but plenty of sunshine--this hopefully encouraged everyone to stay longer and more importantly to part with their money. Results of the reunion games:
